RÓisÍn Lambert is a visual artist from County Wicklow. Occupied by the idea of the inherited place, her work meditates around the representation of land in natural history, myth, and the collective memory. Through the mediums of photography and text, she considers the traces of the human presence in the land, from the archetype of the cave to the fata morgana of modernity, she dwells on the assertion that the landscape acts as a vessel to translate the closest thing to the human understating of existence. Through both intuitive and considered frames, her work is occupied by a landscape layered in mysticism and the narratives sequestered within the ever-shifting soil. Her black and white images explore the tensions between light and dark, the real and the surreal. She is a graduate of Photography from IADT Dún Laoghaire.
